The following summarizes the three, E85 Retailer Workshops that CICCA managed under a contract from the State of Indiana, Office of Energy and Defense Development.

These workshops were designed to educate petroleum retailers on the whys and how’s of installing and operating E85 infrastructure.

In total, over 100 retailers attended the three workshops. The first workshop attendees were welcomed by Lt. Governor, Becky Skillman. The Lt. Governor laid out her vision of what this and the other workshops were to accomplish, what her vision is for the state in regard to biofuels and why E85 is so important to the state and the nation. The attendees at the second workshop were welcomed by Mayor Richard Graham, Mayor of Ft. Wayne and the attendees of the third workshop were welcomed by John Clark, Director of the Office of Energy and Defense Development.

During the three workshops, various E85 equipment providers, fuel providers and vehicle manufacturers exhibited equipment.

To date, as a result of these meetings, CICCA has gained three new member and ten E85 stations are open or soon will be. The interest that has been expressed by other retailers should cultivate into an additional 10 – 15 stations over the next 6 – 10 months.
